Matthew had the following to say about his build.

“I just wanted to drop you a line and thank you for a great experience I have had the pleasure of, since doing business with you and Northland Shooter’s Supply. I am a husband to my wife of 20 years and father of 3 wonderful kids. My 2 sons are 11 and 14 and I have a daughter that is 17. They keep us busy with their activities, sports, and interests. The calendar seems to fill up quickly.

With this on my mind, about 3 weeks ago I scheduled a “man day” with my sons”. No electronic devices, no phones, earbuds, or iPods allowed. On this day we opted for torque wrenches, barrel vises, and the tools purchased from you in order to swap out the barrel on a Remington 700P (.308 Win) to a new Rem-Age Criterion barrel in 6.5 CM (also purchased from you). We had a great time disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling this rifle and also explaining and understanding how these systems worked together to allow the rifle to function safely. As a dad, it was nice to share time and knowledge with my sons and to teach them the skills that I had acquired from my dad. We went out to lunch to grab a tool in town and returned back to install our new Criterion barrel. They learned how to set and use a torque wrench, and how the GO/NO-GO gauges worked. It took some attempts to set the head spacing correctly, but overall the whole experience was great. I would highly recommend the entire experience to any dad who wants to get some time with their kids doing something cool instead of them having their faces buried in a screen.

Oh, and an added cherry on top… The rifle is easily and consistently 1/2 MOA or better for two different affordable match factory loads (Berger 130 OTM and 135 Classic Hunter Match). This is a nice improvement for the same rifle that normally held factory Match .308 Win offerings to .653″ and .701″ over the course of a few hundred rounds. Thanks again for a great experience with my sons, good products and information, and great results!”
