Bill J. of Tennessee sent us a message regarding his most recent build. He had the following to say.
“Just wanted to say thank you for all the help. I have never swapped barrels before so this was a first for me and you made the process almost too easy. I recently purchased the 308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor in the Criterion bull and a 243 Shilen Varmint. The first one I received was the 308 so, I put it on the action first. I am still looking for another short action for the others and also in the market for a long action to build a 300 Win Mag. I took the gun to the range this weekend and got some pretty impressive results. 5 shots at 50 yds to get on the target and adjust. Cleaned the barrel each of the first 5 shots.
Then proceeded to shoot a five shot group at 100 yds and did pull one as shown in this picture. Very impressed thus far. I was using 175 gr. BTHP pull downs that look like they may be SMK’s. Not consistent in weight and all loads were starting charge loads. I can’t wait to see what this gun will do once it gets a few more rounds through it. Again, thank you for making the project so easy to navigate.”
Brent L. of Wisconsin sent us some information regarding his recent Rem/Age build and he had the following to say.
“A couple months ago I purchased a Criterion Rem/Age barrel in stainless, bull contour, match grade chambered in 300 Win Mag. I have to say I could not be happier with this barrel. It shoots like a laser. Even a friend of mine who has never done long range shooting commented that my gun made hitting 1000 yard targets too easy. My Rem/Age build was a Remington 700 action blue printed, McRees Precision chassis, Timney trigger, Atlas B-10 bipod, and Vortex Viper PST 6-24x FFP scope.
This target picture is a 12 inch diameter ringer plate at 1000 yards. My first shot was high. After droping my scope, put 9 more shots in roughly a 4 inch group! This barrel is outstanding! I will be ordering another of the exact same barrels from you in the next few weeks, just so that I have one ready to go when the time comes. Thank you again for offering a great product and your customer service is outstanding.”
Vince E. of Jacksonville, FL sent us some information regarding his most recent build. Vince had the following to say.
“I’m sending a few pics from my 308 Win. built by Mike Monroe at Tank’s Precision Rifles. This build used components purchased from NSS. The rifle is shooting great. I’m starting load development with 175 SMKs and IMR 4895. It’s an easy .5 MOA shooter and yesterday I shot a .323″ group from 100 yds. Thanks for saving me from buying a stock rifle!”
Brandon L. of Montana sent us a message regarding his recent Rem/Age build. Brandon had the following to say.
“Super pleased with the barrel and tools. I should have done it sooner as it was a fun easy build. The customer service that you offer is outstanding! This build consisted of a Remington 700 short action-magpul hunter stock with detachable box mag; topped with 6-24×50 ffp vortex viper pst, vortex rings, 20 moa base. I’m using lapua brass with 38.6 gr of varget and getting 2920fps over a magneto speed chrono. The group size is 1/4 moa or better all day long.”
Thanks for the message Brandon and happy shooting!

Isaiah C. of Missouri send us a note regarding his Savage 6.5 Creedmoor build and his success using this rifle in various shooting event. Isaiah had the following to say.
“Thank you for the super awesome service and the products u choose to sell. This photo is my Savage 6.5 creedmoor bought from NSS. 130 gr berger vld shoots sub 1/2 moa to 1000 yards. I shoot a series in Missouri Called the Missouri Steel Tactical Series. There are 50 to 80 shooters per event. So far, the barrel you supplied me with has put me into one 1st place finish and two 2nd place finishes for this season. I also shoot a series called Border Wars where five states shoot against one another and I was very pleased to see a 2nd place finish in the first of three of that series. Bottom line, your product is awesome and is capable of going head to head with any top rifle/ barrel combo out there. Thanks for the great service!”
Thanks for the message and photos Isaiah and we wish you continued success with your shooting!
Joseph K. of Georgia recently sent us a message regarding his Savage build. Joe is using a Savage target action and a large shank 22-250 Criterion barrel. During barrel break in, he had the following to say.
“I couldn’t help myself this morning and decided to tweak the load after I said I wouldn’t, and now I really am done. I added a full grain of varget, which is the book max and moved the bullet out closer to the lands 10 thousands and this is the 7 shot group it produced. This is good enough for me. I guess if I were a competitor I would mess with it more, but this is what I call perfect.
What a great barrel from Criterion, as they all have been. This is literally the third load I’ve tried.” Thanks for the story Joe and happy shooting!
