Criterion Remage 6.5×47 Lapua PRS Build

Brian D. build

Brian B. of Missouri sent us the following information about his recent Criterion Remage 6.5×47 that he built for his wife to shoot in the Precision Rifle Series (PRS). Here are the products he used for his build. The 24″ Criterion Remage 6.5×47 lapua barrel was purchased at Northland Shooters Supply.

  • Rem 700 Trued receiver face Lapped lugs
  • 24″ Criterion Remage 6.5×47 lapua MTU 8 twist
  • Area 419 hellfire brake
  • Krg Xray chassis
  • Custom “silent night” paint
  • Athlon Ares BTR 2.5-15x50mm Mil
  • Seekins rings
  • Atlas PSR bipod

Brian had the following to say about his build.

“First few rounds through the barrel. Guessed at a load to get some rounds through it. This thing hammers! I built this for my wife to shoot PRS with, as well as, be my PRS backup rifle. This was her first time shooting 700 yards. I’m going to get her out to 1000 yards here in a couple of weeks. I finished tuning a load for it today. 140gr elite hunters, cci 450, and 40.6gr H4350. Getting 2826fps out of this 24″.

The best part about this rifle is its light! 13lb 5oz. My wife has a hard time handling a heavy 17-20 lb match rifle like mine, thus the reason for the KRG Xray chassis. Perfect weight for her and it doesn’t recoil much at all thanks to the Area 419 Hellfire brake. It absolutely hammers steel at distance.”

Thanks for the note Brian and best of luck to you and your wife during this season of PRS shooting.
