6.5 Creedmoor Shilen Rifle Build Success
Randall E. of Tennessee sent us some photos of his recent 6.5 Creedmoor Build using a Shilen Rifles Inc. barrel purchased from Northland Shooters Supply (NSS).
Here are some of the components Randall used:
- 28”- Shilen stainless select match- 6.5 Creedmoor- Small shank Bull contour- 8 twist
- NSS squared and trued barrel nut
- Forster headspace gauges
Here is what Randall had to say about his build:
“Just thought I’d send a couple of pics of my new build utilizing a 28” Shilen Select Bull in 6.5 CM, NSS barrel nut, and Forster gauges. Looking forward to its first match at the end of the month. The only powder I tried is H4350. The charge wound up at 41.0 grains and the bullet seated at .020” off the lands. Brass is virgin Lapua SRP with CCI 450’s. I also tested Hornady 140 ELD’s and Berger 135’s and both shot 1/2” groups but the Hornady 147 ELD-M will be my match load. The Chassis is a MPA Matrix that was Cerakoted by my sponsor at Brookshire Gunwerks. As always, thanks for the great service.”
