Spencer H. of Texas sent us these pictures and message about his new Rem/Age 6.5 Creedmoor build. “Just wanted to give you a follow up. I finally got my MPA Chassis in so that I could shoot this new setup. It’s a hammer!! I could not be more satisfied, especially considering it shoots as well, if not better than my other rifle that cost 2-3 times as much as this setup! I will be purchasing another barrel or 2 from you soon. Thank you again for all your help!”
Tom B. of Kentucky recently sent in pictures of his new Shilen Select Match 6 Dasher build along with this message:
“I wanted to share with you the accuracy of that Shilen barrel, my new 6 Dasher, built on a new Savage 12FV. These photos are of my targets while still fire forming my cases to the chamber. None of these photos are from fully formed cases yet. These are the raw 6BR cases. The first target is of 75 rounds fired at 100 yards. Mind you, this is after I had fired 10 rounds from a new chamber while sighting in my rifle. I pulled the last two off to the right. At the very end as I was starting to get tired.
The second target was shot after I took a break. It is 10 rounds inside of a dime with one true hole. I was blown away, one that I can do that, but two because of the accuracy. Mind you again, this is still fire forming my 6BR cases to my 6 Dasher chamber and barrel. Also attached a photo of the gun as well. These 6mm BR shell cases were also my very first hand loads and I did these to Fire form with. I did not use my competition powder or bullets. I did these loads using 29 grains of Shooters World Match Rifle Powder and Hornady 105 grain Match HPBT bullets. My plans are to use the Sierra Matchking 107 HPBT bullets for my match level setup. Will see how they do once I finish forming and swap over. I am so impressed with these forming results I may continue using the Shooters World powder at $19.50 a pound. It is said to be really good and actually the “Old Accuracy Brand Powder.” Don’t know what that means but seems really good. I have been talking to their ballistics guy and the owner of the company.
Anyway, just wanted you to see my results. Could not be more pleased. I am back out to the range today to finish my last 100 rounds of fire forming. Then to start my regular loads. I have a Match this weekend and cannot wait to get those ready. Will talk to you later.”
Thanks for the message Tom.
Matthew D. of Michigan recently sent us these photos and information about his latest build.
“I purchased a Shilen barrel from you a few months ago along with a barrel nut and barrel lug. The barrel was a 24″ match grade and varmit size in 6.5 Creedmoor. I had this barrel installed and was finally able to shoot it this past weekend with some handloads I made up. I was completely blown away by the groupings and am so happy with the products. I know for sure I will be coming back for more. I have attached the photos of my finish rifle and the grouping I was able to do (.409″ outside to outside!). Thank you again for the amazing products and customer service!”
Chris L. of Nebraska sent us a message regarding his most recent 284 Win. Match build. Chris used a Savage Target Action, F-Class stock, and NSS recoil lug and barrel nut, all purchased from NSS. Chris shared a picture of how it shoots at 100 yards with the following load specs: H4831 SC powder and 180 grain Berger Hybrids. These are the powder charges used in the picture from left to right 53, 53.3 and 53.6 grains
Thanks for sharing Chris and happy shooting!
Damien L. of Pennsylvania sent us a message regarding his recent Rem/Age build and had the following to say.
“I recently purchased a Criterion Rem/Age barrel in 6.5×47 lupua from NSS, along with the wenches and equipment to do the job.
This picture is five different powder charges for load development. I would like to thank you for the help with the equipment selection, your help made the job of putting the rifle together easy and trouble free. To say I’m impressed with the quality of your product is an understatement. Please let the barrel manufacture know that their quality control is second to none and I appreciate the attention to detail thanks again.”
Thanks for the message Damien and happy shooting!
Bill J. of Tennessee sent us a message regarding his most recent build. He had the following to say.
“Just wanted to say thank you for all the help. I have never swapped barrels before so this was a first for me and you made the process almost too easy. I recently purchased the 308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor in the Criterion bull and a 243 Shilen Varmint. The first one I received was the 308 so, I put it on the action first. I am still looking for another short action for the others and also in the market for a long action to build a 300 Win Mag. I took the gun to the range this weekend and got some pretty impressive results. 5 shots at 50 yds to get on the target and adjust. Cleaned the barrel each of the first 5 shots.
Then proceeded to shoot a five shot group at 100 yds and did pull one as shown in this picture. Very impressed thus far. I was using 175 gr. BTHP pull downs that look like they may be SMK’s. Not consistent in weight and all loads were starting charge loads. I can’t wait to see what this gun will do once it gets a few more rounds through it. Again, thank you for making the project so easy to navigate.”
Thanks for your story Bill and happy shooting!
Brent L. of Wisconsin sent us some information regarding his recent Rem/Age build and he had the following to say.
“A couple months ago I purchased a Criterion Rem/Age barrel in stainless, bull contour, match grade chambered in 300 Win Mag. I have to say I could not be happier with this barrel. It shoots like a laser. Even a friend of mine who has never done long range shooting commented that my gun made hitting 1000 yard targets too easy. My Rem/Age build was a Remington 700 action blue printed, McRees Precision chassis, Timney trigger, Atlas B-10 bipod, and Vortex Viper PST 6-24x FFP scope.
This target picture is a 12 inch diameter ringer plate at 1000 yards. My first shot was high. After droping my scope, put 9 more shots in roughly a 4 inch group! This barrel is outstanding! I will be ordering another of the exact same barrels from you in the next few weeks, just so that I have one ready to go when the time comes. Thank you again for offering a great product and your customer service is outstanding.”
Thanks for the message Brent and happy shooting!
Vince E. of Jacksonville, FL sent us some information regarding his most recent build. Vince had the following to say.
“I’m sending a few pics from my 308 Win. built by Mike Monroe at Tank’s Precision Rifles. This build used components purchased from NSS. The rifle is shooting great. I’m starting load development with 175 SMKs and IMR 4895. It’s an easy .5 MOA shooter and yesterday I shot a .323″ group from 100 yds. Thanks for saving me from buying a stock rifle!”
Thanks for the message Vince and happy shooting!
