SHILEN 223 REM VLD BUILD

Hal from Virginia sent sent us some photos and info from his 223 Rem VLD build using a Shilen barrel he purchased from Northland Shooters Supply. 

Here are some of the specs on his build:

• 26” Shilen Stainless Select Match- Small Shank Savage- Bull Contour- 223 Rem VLD- 7 twist 
• NSS Squared and Trued Barrel Nut 
• NSS Action Wrench 
• NSS 4” Barrel Nut Wrench 

Here is what Hal had to say about his build:

“This is my new Shilen Select Match 26-inch .223 416R SS 1:7 twist barrel mounted in my Savage 12 FV in an MDT Oryx stock with a Sinclair F-Class bipod and a Protecktor rear rest.

The picture of the 5-round group, sized using the On Target app, was shot with the new barrel with a reloads using 80 Gr Hornady ELD-M bullets with 22.1 grains of Varget powder seated at 2.512” OAL mounted in Starline brass with a 2,665 fps muzzle velocity.”
