SHILEN 6BR NORMA BUILD

Dave of Colorado sent us some photos of his Shilen 6BR Norma build purchased from Northland Shooters Supply on a Savage Axis II rifle.

“I finally got barrel break in finished and some load development started for the Shilen 8 twist 6BR barrel I recently purchased from NSS. 

The bore is super smooth and cleans quickly and it is shooting some tight groups already.

I am using the factory MDT chassis and I added a single shot sled in place of the magazine and modified the cheekpiece adjustment screws.

I was able to get back to the range today (in the wind) with the purpose of trying some of the new Hornady Aeromatch 105 gr 6mm bullets in my new Shilen 6mm BR barrel from NSS. I tried 29.6 grains of Varget powder as well as 29.4 grains of VV N150 powder with the Aeromatch bullet. The 3rd target is with 108 grain Hornady ELD-M bullets and Varget powder. I think my load development is done. This barrel is a real shooter sir. I can definitely say it won’t be the last barrel I purchase from you!”
