Jay S. of Mississippi sent us some photos and info on his recent 223 Remington build using a Shilen barrel he purchased from Northland Shooters Supply.

Here are the specs on his barrel:

  • 24”- Shilen Stainless Select Match- Small Shank Savage- Varmint Contour- 223 Remington- 12 Twist- Recessed Crown
  • Beadblast Finish
  • Rifle Basix Sav-2 Trigger

“Savage Model 10, Shilen Select match 223 purchased from Northland Shooting Supply. Shooting factory ammo. This group was shots 7,8 and 9 out of a new barrel. See my smile from a mile!!! It is a factory Savage action with a factory stock pillar bedded with glass bedded. The only ammo I have shot through it so far is factory Remington Premier 50 gr varmint ammo.”
