6 DASHER SHOULDERED PREFIT BUILD
Max from Texas sent us some photos and info on his recent 6 Dasher build using a Criterion shouldered prefit purchased from Northland Shooters Supply.
The results speak for themselves—consistent performance from the bench and solid groups while shooting positionally for PRS.
Barrel specs:
– 26” Criterion Shouldered Prefit
– Bull Contour
– 6 Dasher
– 7.5 Twist with Muzzle Thread
Here is what Max had to say about his build:
“Hey James, I wanted to share the success I’ve had with the newest barrel I bought from you. As expected, it’s a shooter.
The photos I shared were me practicing shooting positionally for PRS. The smallest group just right of center was 10 shots fired from the bench to establish zero. The other three groups were all shot standing from a barricade at 100 yards.
The three groups at the top of the diamond were two lots of brass I purchased a year apart from each other with different numbers of firings on them. The bottom is 15 shots, the left is 10 shots, and the top is 15 shots.
This barrel will routinely shoot .2s and .3s from the bench. The load is as follows:
– Alpha 6 Dasher brass
– Varget powder
– CCI 450 primers
– Sierra 107gr tipped match kings
– 2820fps
I’m still using a Solus action, but for the time being it’s in a Masterpiece Arms Matrix Pro 2 chassis.
Thanks again! I’ll be calling for another barrel soon.”
We appreciate Max sharing his results with us. It’s always great to see these builds perform both on the bench and in real-world shooting situations.
