CRITERION 6.5-06 BUILD

Criterion 6506 build

Blake of Arizona sent us some info and photos of his Criterion 6.5-06 barrel build purchased from Northland Shooters Supply.

Here are the components Blake purchased from Northland Shooters Supply for his build:

–    26” Criterion- Varmint Contour- Small Shank- 6.5-06 Match- 8 Twist

–    Savage Arms Model 110 Receiver- Right Hand/Long Action- .473 Bolt Face- Tungsten Cerakote

–    NSS Precision Ground Recoil Lug

–    NSS Squared and Trued Barrel Nut

–    MDT XRS Chassis- Flat Dark Earth

–    Rifle Basix Sav-1 Trigger

–    Stainless Thread Protector

Here is what Blake had to say about his build:

“The initial scope sighting in was done with this target using a rather low-power load. I taped the target, used up the rest of my low-power loads, then did a basic ladder test, looking more for pressure signs than accuracy (two shots per outer target).

Fewer than 20 rounds through the rifle. Near as I can tell, this thing is going to shoot lights out. Reloading components I used are:

–    147 grain Hornady ELD M bullets

–    48.7 grains of Hodgdon H4350 powder

–    Nosler 25-06 brass necked up to 264 (6.5 mm)

Components used for my build are:

–    Savage 110 LA

–    Trued barrel nut and recoil lug

–    Atlas bipod

–    MDT XRS Chassis

–    Leupold MK4 HD 8 x 32 scope

–    MDT 20 MOA rail

–    SureFire muzzle brake

–    Bolt lift kit by Desh Industries

–    M-Carbo trigger kit

–    Bolt handle and knob from Glades Armory

Thanks for all your help getting this done. I think more people should check out the cartridge because it’s an easy wildcat to load for.”
