The 6 BRA

6 BRA

What is a 6 BRA you may ask?

The 6 BRA is a 6 BR Norma with a 40-degree shoulder (Ackley Improved) which gives you increased case capacity resulting in higher velocities.

Another great benefit of the 6 BRA is that it does not move the shoulder forward keeping the same long neck length on the BRA as on the 6 BR Norma.

This cartridge is very popular with PRS and benchrest shooters due to its inherent accuracy.

Brass is easily fire formed from Lapua or Peterson 6 BR Norma brass. If you prefer not to fire form, 6 BRA brass can also be purchased from Alpha Munitions.

Commonly used powders are Hodgdon H4895, Hodgdon Varget, and Reloader 15.

You can get reloading dies from Widden Gunworks and Wilson.

Here are a couple of results from a Northland Shooters Supply customer build using a Criterion Barrels Inc. barrel chambered in 6 BRA (Ackley Improved).
