CRITERION 6BR NORMA BUILD

criterion 6br

Patrick from Michigan sent us photos and info on his 6BR Norma build.

Here are the specs on some of the components he purchased from Northland Shooters Supply:

– 26” Criterion Stainless Match- Small Shank Savage- MTU Contour- 6BR Norma- 8 Twist with Muzzle Thread

– NSS Precision Ground Recoil Lug

– NSS Squared and Trued Barrel Nut

– PT&G Headspace Gauges

Here’s what Patrick had to say about his build:

“This is a target from the last barrel I got from you about a month ago. It’s a CBI 26” MTU chambered in 6BR Norma. 5 shots @ 100 yds while fire forming new brass. My poor man’s target rig. I can’t wait to buy another. It’s a 1994 Savage 110FP, which isn’t ideal for the stubby 6BR, but it was what I had. Choate Varmint model stock. Not as pretty as the chassis, but it is a beast of a stock which is perfect for bench shooting. Altogether, it weighs in at a bit over 17 lbs. A poor man’s bench gun.

The 108s are good, but pricey so I got lucky to find a node while still fire forming new brass. Need to play with some seating depths. This load was .008″ into the lands.

Gonna take a while but I’m wanting another .223 barrel for my Model 12 LRPV.

Thanks for the great service.”
